Your place to stay in natural, historic settings in Purple Perigord
Our house is located in a small, quiet and authentic hamlet in the "Pays des Bastides", set back from the summer crowds. It is an ideal location to visit our beautiful region, to rest, to hike... and regenerate through authentic things.
A historic site
La Bousquie is one of 11 houses in a charming, quiet and unspoiled hamlet, tastefully renovated and carefully maintained by its inhabitants.
The houses are served by a road with little traffic (dead-end road) and are very spaced out: you will not have direct neighbors, but you will not be isolated either.
Our hamlet is surrounded by forests, farmland and meadows. The place is so quiet that you will certainly have the chance to see animals: deer, hares, various birds and, if lucky, foxes!
The hamlet is rooted in history: the surrounding paths have been walked by men since prehistoric times. The village of Bayac, to which we are attached, gave its name to two eras of the Palaeolithic (Bayacian and Gravetian)!
You can also see here and there the tracks of cart wheels from the Gallo-Roman and medieval times.
There are even some historical curiosities in or around the hamlet: communal oven, cluzeaux, grottos, open-air washhouse...
Natural pleasures
You will not only enjoy the calm of our hamlet: the sounds of the birds will delight your ears.
Feast your eyes upon our breathtaking sunsets, or visit the artists who live nearby, before turning your gaze toward the infinity of our starry skies (there is no light pollution here).
Many things to do for the active ones
The hamlet is the starting point for beautiful hikes, running trails and one of the most famous climbing sites in the region, recognized by the FFME: the Rocher du Corbeau (26 routes - difficulty 4 to 7).
For canoeing, the Dordogne is 10 minutes away by car.
